Discipling the Nations @ www.ssnet.org

SABBATH AFTERNOON
Read for This Week’s Study: Isa. 56:6-8; Matt. 11:20-24; John 12:20-32; Rom. 15:12; Acts 1:7-8.

Memory Text: For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. (Isaiah 56:7, NKJV)

Modern Christians face a similar challenge. Will they sacrificially invest in furthering the gospel, or will they become inwardly focused, forgetting their larger purpose? It’s an easier trap to fall into than we realize.

How some Christians forget what God has done for them:

Luke 17:11–19

Christ Cleanses Ten Lepers
11 Now it happened has He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, iwho stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, j“Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.
15 And one of them, when he saw that he was healed, returned, and with a loud voice kglorified God, 16 and fell down on his face at His feet, giving Him thanks. And he was a lSamaritan.
17 So Jesus answered and said, “Were there not ten cleansed? But where are the nine? 18 Were there not any found who returned to give glory to God except this foreigner?” 19 mAnd He said to him, “Arise, go your way. Your faith has made you well.”

Are you really Christian?

Matthew 28:16–20

The Appearance of Jesus to the Disciples
16 Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain jwhich Jesus had appointed for them. 17 When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some kdoubted.
The Great Commission
18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, l“All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 mGo 3therefore and nmake disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 oteaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am pwith you always, even to the end of the age.” 4Amen.
